Spitfire (performs) (1)

This is 1 of Britain's greatest and most revered historical Warplanes, The Supermarine Spitfire.

During our time of need in The Battle of Britain it was there along with its Hawker Hurricane counterpart to fend off the mass numbers of the Nazi Luftwaffe when they came to attack no matter how shear the number against them were, it was thanks to the Spitfire and the Hurricane also that we were saved from invasion and destruction.

As the commentator said the Spitfire engine is the sound of freedom and truer words were never spoken.

Over 20,000 of this great example of a machine were built and some were sold for export during WW2 to the allied nations as well as used over here in the UK.

This Spitfire is a 2 seater variant, the 1 I think to be the TR.9 Gunnery Trainer variant with 4 303 Browning Machine Guns (2 per wing)

It is powered by 1 (1,280hp) Rolls-Royce Merlin 45 supercharged V12 piston engine, can reach an altitude of 36,500ft and a maximum speed of 370mph.
